Campiagn branding for
Rare & Unique Books Sales

Sotheby’s has always sold books, the first auction that was held 275 ago was a book sale and whilst they have been over shadowed by fine art, over the five years I worked on books they had some wonderful quirky sales. These included a complete set of every first edition Dicken’s, a set of computing books dating back four hundred years and including a first print by Gallileo, political cartoons and a set of military history books.
My role was to give each sale it’s own campaign branding that, would help to explain the character and bring visual interest to what could be quite dry sales proposition.
The branding had to help the sale stand out but also fit in the wider context of the other books sales. It also had to be flexible and easy to apply across the dedicated sale catalogue, the exhibition and any of the marketing materials.
