Rebrand of Orinet Express

In 2014 Orient-Express became Belmond. This was an extensive rebrand, from top to bottom, moving the brand away from a hugely loaded name to something that would fit the diverse portfolio of property’s. Working under the guidance of our Creative Director I was central to the re-brand. Adrain created the master logo, and set the scene, I worked on creating a visual language around it, developing, individual property logos, our colour ways, type style, our signature patterns and signage.
Once we had the brand we started to replace the old marketing and on property materials. Using the visual language we developed, we redesigned a whole range of materials, including advertising, websites, stationary, a redesign of the gift cards and a completely new e-mail template that has been very successful - the last mailing making over $150,000 (USD).
Orient-Express had a very strong e-commerce presence, a key part of my role during the rebrand was the redesign of the website. Working with the excellent web agency Nevado who built the pages and worked on the UX and UI, I lead the design making sure the new site reflected the new brand.
During this time I developed the design structure of the websites. I led the redesign of the site, giving design direction to the development agency. With 4 million plus visits to the sites a month this was a high profile challenge.
